Just a short drive from Hobart, the site sits on the edge of the pristine waterfront of Lewisham, with clear views across the bay to Mount Wellington beyond. Using local materials, a simple corrugated steel box protrudes like a jetty from the land, housing the bedrooms and bathrooms.
With the land falling naturally to the foreshore, the corrugated steel-clad box houses the garage, entry, study, bedrooms and bathrooms, and provides elevated views and privacy to a master bedroom at its far end. A lower living level of glass is tucked in beneath the steel box at the water’s edge, capitalising on the majestic views and direct water access.
